PGCH Daworth's Destiny
April 18, 1994 * February 9, 1998

Linda Henwood helped me deliver this doe and when she was born, Linda looked at her approvingly and said, "This is your destiny." Thus she became Daworth’s Destiny. As she developed, I was struck by how well balanced she was and how she remained such a beautiful doe.

Destiny received her first Grand Championship as a junior, under Gayle Skoff. As a Sr Doe she won back to back Grand Championships under David Adkins and Kim Yates. To become a Permanent Grand Champion at that time, she needed to deliver a live kid, which she did, Daworth’s Debonaire, with no problems.

In February 1998, with her next kidding, she had complications. . I had a vet come out to assist. The vet assisted delivery of two doe kids, both stillborn. The vet said to keep an eye on her but something was not right. Another vet was called to examine her and discovered a uterus tear. At 3:30am, with her head in my lap, she took her last breath.

For me, Destiny was a perfect doe. Her conformation, her temperament, and her femininity – all perfection. Linda Henwood was right. She was my Destiny. I don’t imagine I’ll ever recreate her, but she sure set a standard for my breeding program. I’m sorry I lost her, but I’m so grateful to have seen what can be, what I can strive for, she was my Destiny.
